The Mission of the Louisiana Housing Corporation is to ensure that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, energy efficient housing. Each day this ongoing challenge is met by a dedicated staff of professionals who allocate federal and state funds to help low-to-moderate income citizens make their housing dreams a reality.
The LHC was created by Act 408 of the 2011 Louisiana Legislative Session. The Corporation administers federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy efficient and affordable housing for low- and moderate- income families.
The LHA serves severely disabled and homeless individuals by providing funding for rental assistance, supportive services, shelter operations, homeless prevention and rapid re-housing assistance.
The LHC is governed by a board composed of 11 members that meet regularly to act on Corporation business.
The LHC Board of Directors meets regularly to handle the business of the Corporation.
The LHC’s daily functions are managed by a team of dedicated employees with decades of experience in housing and community development in both the public and private sector.

Performance and Reporting is responsible for driving programmatic and operational change, strategic planning, research, reporting, and maintaining data integrity.
The LHC Internal Audit Department has a Fraud Hotline to report allegations of (misappropriation) theft, fraud, waste or abuse of public funds. Information can be provided anonymously, however, providing a name and telephone number can be helpful, because it allows follow-up questions. Your name and telephone number, as well as the status of complaints, are confidential. If you suspect fraud, waste or abuse of public funds, please report allegations to the Internal Audit Division at 225-763-8860 or LHC-Fraud@lhc.la.gov.
LHC Facility Rental
The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) operates three facilities with meeting rooms that are available for public use. Businesses or other professional organizations may schedule use of LHC facilities on a first-come, first-served basis.
